TAF 2011 Conference Information

Leadership: TAF 2011

This year's TAF conference will be held from July 31 - August 7, 2011. Check-in begins at 3:00pm on Sunday, July 31. The conference ends after lunch on Sunday, August 7.

Our theme this year is Leadership: "The Ones" and we look forward to exploring and growing our leadership skills during a week of fun and friends!


If you have been to TAF before, you know that the TAF experience is profound and unique -- something you cannot find anywhere else! The friends you make, the activities and games you play, the lessons you learn, and the ways you are challenged to think and grow all make TAF the summer event that you cannot miss!

Frequently Asked Questions


Q: How do I register for TAF?
A: You can register for TAF via our online form which is now available from the Registration Page. Please register by July 15, 2011, to avoid the late registration fee. For the weekend program, registration will also be available online or can be done on-site when you arrive on campus.


Q: Which program should I (or my kids) register for?
A: Participants between 6-12 years of age should register for the Juniors program. If you will have just completed the 5th grade, you can decide if you want to stay in Juniors or go to the Junior High program. For those completing 6th, 7th or 8th grade, you should register for the Junior High program. For those completing 9th-12th grade OR are college-aged and under 21 years old, you should register for the Youth program.


Q: How much is registration?
A: Please see the table below for the registration fees. Financial aid assistance is available on our Financial Aid page and are due June 10, 2011. Late registration: Registrations made after July 15, 2011, will incur an additional $25 per person or $50 per family.

Q: What is the Immediate Family Discount?
A: TAF understands that sending multiple children to TAF can be a financial burden so TAF is offering $100 discount for each additional sibling (immediate family member) attending the full week conference. This discount comes out of our financial aid budget, so we ask if you do not require this financial aid, you consider making a donation back to TAF. This will enable TAF to offer financial aid to more families so more children can experience TAF.


Air Travel Information

Many campers travel to TAF by air. The closest airport to TAF is Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA). If you are travelling by air, please let us know your flight number and arrival information when you register. We will coordinate to have a North Manchester van shuttle you from the airport to campus. Please note there is an extra ~$40 fee for this airport shuttle for travel on both Sundays and ~$20 for one Sunday (either arriving to TAF or leaving TAF).


Bus Information

One-way buses are available from Chicago (Des Plaines and Oakbrook) and Detroit (Troy and Ann Arbor) to TAF. Parents will need to arrange for a ride home from TAF. We invite parents to come on the weekend to pick up their kids and join the parent's program. Bus fee is ~$40 per person. Exact fees, pick-up times and locations will be posted as soon as they are available.
